For information on the Sewer Ride that starts off at the DALY CITY BART on May 10th at noon, see the link below.  The ride ends at the gallery.  Sign on for both or just come for the party  Either way, we hope to see you this Saturday.  The weather looks inviting so no way we are canceling this one!

Biggest Opening Night ever!

Huge Thanks to everyone who came out for our party last Thursday night!  We had double the attendance of the rest of our shows and ALL of the food, wine and beer were heartily consumed!!  This great night featured incredible work, art sales and fantastic opportunities for mixing and mingling!!

Even the kids got to take part in the action under the firm hand of flour painter, Tim Armstrong, who helped them make their own unique flour painted emblems on our gallery floor.

For those who signed up for the Sewer Ride, you probably heard it was cancelled due to torrential rain.  The SFBC Sewer Ride has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 10th at NOON.  There will be a small party at the gallery to welcome riders and any one else who wants to come out and celebrate this awesome show at 3PM.

This year’s adventurous and moderately challenging tour will start at the Daly City BART station. We’ll climb east, up and over San Bruno Mountain and drop to the edge of San Francisco Bay. Turning north, we’ll sniff our way around the backside of Candlestick Park, investigating the squishy boundary between humans and H2O, with emphasis on the massive sewer mechanics below our feet. The tour ends just north of India Basin, at the Reclaimed Room, an exhibition space for environmental arts, crafts, and media. A project of Building Resources at 701 Amador Street.

12 miles, some climbing, some steep downhill, and a bit of dirt and gravel. Bring helmet, water, good attitude and a snack! Comfort riding in traffic and groups advised. Questions? contact

Happy New Year from Reclaimed Room and Building REsources!

Thank you so very much for all your support during our inaugural year!  It has been a terrific launch for this new program at Building REsources.  Much gratitude to all our participating artists this year as well.  Over the last six months we have seen our space transform three times and been fortunate to house work from the following artists:

Martha Jones

Alekandra Zee

Roland Blandy

Reddy Lieb

Tony Hurd

Samuel Fleming Lewis

On display until January 14th is The Living Show with Tony Hurd and Samuel Fleming Lewis,  check it out before it’s over during regular business hours at Building REsources.  (9-4, seven days a week)

Next year proves to be even more exciting!  Stay tuned for information on our upcoming shows and save these dates!

Alternative Cosmos: Opens February 6th (with Solis and Lady Saphire)

W.a.t.e.r.w.o.r.k.s: Opens March 27th (with Tom Kabat, Miles Epstein, Tim Armstrong, Bruce Barton and Clint Imboden)

The show will be our most ambitious with additional events including a bicycle sewer tour that ends at the Re Room on March 29th and a special screening of A Fierce Green Fire, a Sundance documentary about the environmental movement by Mark Kitchell with filmmakers in attendance (date TBA).  Next year will also see a Building REsources staff show, exploiting the talents of our very own artists who serve our customers everyday.  We are also in talks with our friendly neighbor SCRAP to host a show of their very own in our venue.  There’s more, but, we will leave a little mystery for the months to come.  Be sure to stay tuned to all the ongoings and goings on of the Reclaimed Room by visiting and signing up for this blog!

We wish everyone an incredibly safe, happy and prosperous start to 2014.  Happy New Year!!
