FUSIONS opens TONIGHT!
Many Building Resources regulars have been peeking into the new Reclaimed Room space to see what all the fuss is about. Â Broken glass, huge carts, strange and interesting sculptures and more are transforming the room into FUSIONS. Â FUSIONS features work by Reddy Lieb and Roland Blandy complemented by resident light artist Gregory Benke’s aerial spotlights. Â Show opens at 5pm tonight and the reception lasts until 8. Â We truly hope to see you there. Â The event is free and there will be snacks and drinks provided. Â The artists have worked hard to create and prepare this work for you and will be there in person this evening! 701 Amador Street, SF CA 94124.
FUSIONS-Artist Profiles
Reclaimed Room for Environmental Arts opens a new show on September 12.  Stop by from 5-8pm for refreshments and a celebration with Fusions artists Roland Blandy and Reddy Lieb in person.  I spent time with each of them in their studios and workspaces to learn more about how they create their pieces and what inspires them.  These profiles give you to opportunity to learn more about the deep relationship between the artist and his or her medium and the process that ensues to create this work.  Both artists begin with the deconstruction process (sometimes just plain destruction) and revive their materials with new life.  From glass works to funky creatures, repurposed  furniture and animated driftwood, this show promises to engage the senses and mind.

In The Yard (usually) at Building REsources
Building REsources has a unique blend of practical, strange and innovative offerings. Â In the coming months, we will be working to help better demarcate the regular sections in the yard, highlight unique finds and educate the greater public about the amazing potential that resides in the concept of reuse. Â Most of the regulars know what kind of gems one can stumble upon here but even the regulars have grandiose tales to tell of reclaimed materials they found no where else but BR. Â Join this mini-revolution on the industrial shores of San Francisco’s bay, we are open every day from 9:00-4:30pm. Â As a nonprofit organization, Building REsources partly operates through a generous grant from the San Francisco Department of the Environment. Â Here is a breakdown of what we offer the community.
RECLAIMED MATERIALS

tumbled glass: various colors
Tumbled glass is made with reclaimed wine bottles that are put through a special process that mimics the ocean’s effect on glass over time.
EDUCATION
Reclaimed Room
Part of the BR warehouse has been re-imagined as an exhibition space for environmental arts, crafts and media. Â This initiative programs shows every two months and creates opportunities for learning, teaching, engaging and collaborating in the physical space and online.
Artists are encouraged to submit a proposal to ReclaimedRoom@gmail.com. Â Our next reception is slated for September 12, 2013 and features work by local artists Reddy Lieb and Roland Blandy as well as the awesome “Chaos Theory” centerpiece by resident light artist, Gregory Randolph Benke.
