Check Out Beneath The Surface artists testing the work of featured artist Tom Kabat at a recent planning meeting! Kabat fashions interesting and intuitive bicycle sculptures from reclaimed odds and ends including skis, scooters and even a pencil bike that actually writes!! In the background, you can see the newly erected Bayshore mural on the unused grain elevators. This project was commissioned by the San Francisco Art Commission and lights up at night. A great landmark to find our gallery for these upcoming receptions!!
As part of this new display, we are sponsoring a special reception for the resurrected Sewer Ride by the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition! The Sewer ride takes place Saturday, March 29th, starting at the Daly City BART and winds 12 miles near San Bruno mountain, Candlestick and the SF Bay exploring the squishy boundary between humans and H20. It comes to a close at Reclaimed Room with a small party for the riders and anyone else who wants to join. The riders should arrive between 3 and 4pm and the party officially goes from 4-6pm.
